Golden milk and dark chocolate combine in this deliciously anti-inflammatory hot chocolate drink.
This Paleo-friendly hot chocolate upgrades an old classic with powerful turmeric! When mixed with a little black pepper, this bright spice adds anti-inflammatory properties to your chocolatey drink.
If you’re worried that the black pepper will become too pungent in your hot chocolate, don’t worry. Cacao powder, cinnamon and maple syrup balance the flavors and sweeten it to perfection. You can also easily substitute honey, stevia or coconut sugar for the maple syrup. Tip: Start with a small amount of sweetener, then taste test it before adding more.

To make this golden milk hot chocolate, whisk almond milk together with the cacao powder, maple syrup, cinnamon, turmeric and black pepper. Whisk rapidly as the liquid simmers to get the hot chocolate extra creamy and smooth. For an even frothier hot chocolate, transfer the ingredients from the saucepan to a blender and combine for a few minutes.
Drink this golden milk hot chocolate in the morning (you can add a shot of espresso for a kick), or as an evening drink to warm you up when it’s cold outside.
