Fruit leather (or as we like to call it, “fruit jerky”) makes a great snack to curb cravings. While many of us enjoyed the store-bought version as children, the good news is that it’s super-easy to make a Paleo-friendly version without any artificial colors or preservatives.

Then you throw them in a blender to make applesauce.
At this point, you’re almost done. Just spread the applesauce on a baking silpat (a nonstick baking mat you can get at most kitchen stores). Then bake it for several hours. Though it takes a little patience, it’s a very low-maintenance recipe.
I opted to peel the skin off the apples, and I suggest you do the same. (You can snack on them while you wait for your masterpiece to bake.) Though apple skins have nutritional benefits, you want the applesauce to be as smooth as possible. With that said, the final fruit leather will most likely have a few bumps or ridges in it, and that’s ok! Normal applesauce has a few clumps in it. If it didn’t, it would be more like an apple smoothie.
