With only a handful of ingredients and one single skillet, you can make this beef and toasted broccoli in 30 minutes flat. Not only will this recipe deliver your daily fill of protein and fiber, but you can also count on it becoming a new weeknight favorite.
The steaks are seasoned simply with salt and pepper before searing, while the broccoli gets crispy through a simple pan-frying technique. The final touch includes a soy-free dressing that combines coconut aminos with just a hint of coconut sugar.

To get started, heat up one tablespoon of olive oil and then turn the heat to medium-high. Place the broccoli florets in a single layer and allow them to cook undisturbed for ten minutes, flipping halfway through. When the bottoms are brown and crispy on each side, remove them from the pan and set aside.
Next, season the steaks with salt and pepper, and add another tablespoon of olive oil. Place the steaks in a single layer and sear them for five minutes on each side. You’ll notice the top surface of the steak begin to bleed, which is your cue to flip the steak over. This will produce a medium rare steak, but if you prefer well-done, sear an extra two minutes on each side.
While the steaks are cooking, combine the chopped parsley, minced shallots, the remaining olive oil, coconut aminos, and coconut sugar together to make the dressing. Reserve the dressing for the finished steak and broccoli, then drizzle on top and serve!

- 4 T olive oil, divided
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 2 New York strip steaks, 8 oz each
- 1 t salt
- 1 t ground black pepper
- ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 T minced shallots
- 1 T coconut aminos
- 1 t coconut sugar
Instructions
- Heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the broccoli florets in a single layer onto the skillet and cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through. When each side is crispy and brown, remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add another 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan and begin seasoning the steaks with salt and pepper. Place the steaks onto the pan and sear for approximately 5 minutes on each side. This will produce a steak that’s medium rare.
- While the steaks are searing, create the dressing by combining the chopped parsley, minced shallots, the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, coconut aminos, and coconut sugar together.
- When the steaks are ready, serve them with the broccoli and drizzle the dressing on top.
