The mango syrup is made of four ingredients – mango, honey, turmeric and pepper. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and adding a little black pepper to it helps release those properties. The syrup is sweetened with mango and a little honey, but you can substitute the sweetener with maple syrup, liquid stevia or coconut sugar. Simmer the ingredients on low for about 5 minutes, or until most of the mango has liquefied and the mixture is fragrant. If chunks of mango still exist, that’s okay.
Next, simply blend the mango mixture with four of the green tea ice cubes. Pour into a glass with more green tea ice cubes, and drink up!
Enjoy your Iced Turmeric Mango Tonic any time of day, or serve as a non-alcoholic party drink.
