Applesauce gives these brownies a chewy, silky texture that’s absolutely droolworthy.
When combined with melted dark chocolate and a few wet ingredients, applesauce helps create the richest chocolate brownies possible!
Baking with unsweetened applesauce is also a great way to reduce sugar. You can usually replace ½ cup of sugar with applesauce for a sneaky way to make a baked recipe healthier and lighter.

Coconut flour, tapioca flour and cacao powder create the base of these brownies. When baked, the ingredients become a thick, chewy brownie laden with lots of chocolate flavor.
To start, combine the wet ingredients in a standing mixer, then add in the dry ingredients and mix again. A hand mixer or blender would work just as well. Then pour the brownie batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper to make clean-up a snap!
You can make these applesauce brownies extra special by adding a silky layer of chocolate frosting. When you remove the brownies from the oven, sprinkle dark chocolate chips over the top to melt as the brownies cool. Because you can never have enough chocolate!
